XEP 4.11 released

RenderX has released XEP 4.11. XSL 1.1 fo:folio-prefix and fo:folio-suffix are supported. Initial encoding for Type 1 fonts may be specified in the configuration file. A number of PDF options, such as the initial layout and viewer preferences, are available. DocBench bundle includes oXygen XML Editor 9.0. A new multithreading example in C# added to XEPWin Integration and Connectivity Kit .

New Product Beta Release: XML Report Generator (XMLRG) 1.3.0 Beta

RenderX is pleased to introduce a new product in the online shop – XML Report Generator (XMLRG) 1.3.0 Beta.
XML Report Generator (XMLRG) is a web application that uses templates based on Microsoft Word 2003/2007 variable data merging from Oracle Database 9i/10g. The application uses RenderX XEP to produce final reports, such as purchase orders, bills, invoices, application forms, etc. in the PDF, PostScript and AFP formats.
DataStyler is used for quick templates creation based on Microsoft Word 2003/2007 for variable data embedding. It is possible to pick up data from the Oracle Database and generate high-quality reports with data merged on the fly in XML Report Generator (XMLRG).
User can select report samples interactively and integrate them to generate composite report. There is an ability to define filter conditions on the data to insert calculated fields, total fields, formatting masks and relations between different elements of XML data.
XML Report Generator (XMLRG) 1.3.0 Beta is available for download here. Also it is possible to use the XML Report Generator (XMLRG) API Beta library to design report generating applications with Oracle XML DB backend and XEP rendering functionality. It also can be integrated into the custom solution as a report generator.

New Product Beta Release: Datastyler 1.3.0 Beta

RenderX is pleased to introduce a new product in the online shop – DataStyler 1.3.0 Beta. DataStyler is an application that uses Microsoft Word 2003/2007 for quick creation of templates for variable data embedding. The application utilizes RenderX XEP to produce final reports, such as purchase orders, bills, invoices, application forms, etc., in the PDF, PostScript or AFP formats.
DataStyler is created with the help of a rich client technology that features floating windows, different user views and perspectives, wizards, progress indicators, workspace layout management (save/restore), automatic updates and so on. Microsoft Word 2003/2007 is used as the environment for template layout design. It is a widespread text processor which enables a user to work with texts in the open-standard XML format. Special XML tags are used for indicating data merge points in a template.
A user can just to drag-and-drop XML data elements from the DataStyler window that shows the merged data structure onto the layout of the Microsoft Word document. A predefined table layout to embed the corresponding data elements will be generated automatically.
DataStyler 1.3.0 Beta is available for download here.
Also it is possible to use the DataStyler API Beta command line utility for data merge and reports generation. This application uses templates created with DataStyler and XML data source files to produce printable reports. It is a 100-percent Java application and can be run on both Windows and Linux/Unix platforms.

New Product Beta Release: INX2FO Plug-In 1.0 Beta

RenderX is proud to introduce a new product in the online shop – INX2FO Plug-In 1.0 Beta. This is an Adobe InDesign CS2 plug-in that greatly simplifies transformation of dynamic documents to PDF or PostScript. The technology uses a set of the RenderX INX2FO stylesheets for transformation from the InDesign INX format to XSL FO (XSLFO) and RenderX XEP/XEPWin as a formatting core for PDF or PostScript generation. The plug-in gives several additional tools to for the data source management and also simplifies the PDF or PostScript generation – the resulting file can be generated with just a few mouse click. The whole INX2FO solution (the plug-in, stylesheets, and XEP rendering engine) enables fast dynamic document development and high-speed, cost-effective document production. The INX2FO solution is the right choice for the design and production of dynamic, flowing documents such as contracts, statements, loan packages, and marketing materials in various industries such as financial and legal services, insurance, government, etc.

New Product Release: Visual-XSL (VisualXSL 1.5)

RenderX is pleased to inform you about a new product’s availability - Visual-XSL (VisualXSL 1.5) is now released. Visual-XSL (VisualXSL 1.5) is a GUI-based application for designing XSL stylesheets primarily used as an overlay for forms. A user can create an XSL stylesheet visually, quickly, without coding or any XSL-FO (XSLFO) knowledge. With an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop interface, Visual-XSL (VisualXSL 1.5) does all the hard work for you. Behind the scenes, it is creating an XSL stylesheet for use with RenderX XEP/XEPWin. It is an ideal product for high-performance form-based batch printing or dynamic, on-the-fly form generation. Visual-XSL (VisualXSL 1.5) can be used to create and deliver any of the 1000s of forms used in your business, such as checks, bills, invoices, claims, applications or government forms, etc.
The stylesheet generated by Visual-XSL (VisualXSL 1.5) can be used with XEP to produce millions of forms filled with data. This high-speed output can be achieved due to the use of the absolute positioning of text blocks.

XEP 4.10 released

RenderX has released XEP 4.10. On jre 1.6 it runs up to 82% faster. Documentation has been significantly improved. The AFP backend in XEP 4.10 features support for Greek and Chinese character sets and basic support for native AFP raster fonts. XEPwin 2.1 installes jre 1.6 and includes XEP 4.10. DocBench bundle includes oXygen XML Editor 8.2. A new multithreading example added to Integration and Connectivity Kit.

The new version of INX2FO stylesheets released for free download

The new version of XSLT stylesheets designed for converting Adobe InDesign Interchange (INX) format to XSL FO (XSLFO) is now available. RenderX has implemented support for the geometrical shapes and shapes transformation operations (such as rotation, scaling, skewing, and motion). Also image processing is greatly improved and transformation operations are now available (such as rotation, scaling, skewing and motion). Multiple text, color support, table of contents processing and other enhancements are also included in the new version of the stylesheets.

The new version of WordML2FO stylesheets released for free download

RenderX has released the new version of WordML2FO stylesheets for converting WordML documents to XSL FO (XSLFO).
WordML2FO has been improved by RenderX to provide customization for bookmark generation and better processing of table cells borders, paragraph text color set as "auto", TOC generation. Also there were fixed processing of documents saved with "Track and changes" option switched on. Stylesheets to provide different XSL translators compatibility were improved.
WordML2FO package contains the collection of samples to demonstrate the capabilities of the conversion and user documentation to help users perform the conversion.

XEP 4.9 released

RenderX has released XEP 4.9. Major achievements are in AFP backend.
The AFP backend in XEP 4.9 provides multilingual support, a number of new types of Barcodes with BC:OCA or G:OCA , wider range of SVG primitives and WordArt graphics, other improvements and bug fixes. The user interface in XEP Assistant has been improved. XEPwin 2.0 has also been updated and now it includes XEP 4.9.
