XEP Engine

Connectivity Kit

Mathsoft Engineering & Education, Inc., the only provider of complete Calculation Management solutions, selected RenderX's XEP solution to produce high-volume print capability of quantitative engineering information. Mathsoft's Mathcad™ and Calculation Management Suite™ products are the only engineering applications that, unlike other calculation packages or spreadsheets, accept and display natural mathematical notation using keystroke input or menu palette clicks. The Calculation Management Suite includes Designate™, a Web-based solution that allows Mathcad users to store, search, view, reuse, publish and report on their Mathcad worksheets all through a browser. RenderX's XEP product, a commercial grade XSL formatting engine based on the XSL FO (XSLFO) flexible formatting specification, will be embedded into Designate so that customers can convert their Mathcad worksheets to PDF format for printing and archiving purposes.

Allen Razdow, Chief Technology Officer, Mathsoft:

"The driving force behind our company, products and services is our Calculation Management methodology for engineering enterprises, and publication is an essential component of Calculation Management. The ability to share calculations and related engineering information with other engineers, QA departments, marketers, executives, regulators, customers and outside suppliers in a professional and platform-independent manner is of tremendous value. Our integration with RenderX also supports the myriad Mathcad customers who work on projects or internal processes that require document archiving. PDF is the format of choice since it is eminently readable, portable and faithful to the original. And RenderX XEP is the best tool we've found for PDF conversion of engineering calculations, methods, values and supporting information."

John Sheehan, Director of Solution Services, Mathsoft:

"RenderX's staff provided unparalleled support to Mathsoft in the integration. The product is easy to use, standards-based and platform-friendly," he said. "The RenderX support team exceeded our expectations and provided invaluable insight during the development and implementation of our software. We're looking forward to a fruitful partnership."

Kevin Brown, Executive Vice President, RenderX:

"Our channel program has rapidly expanded over the last several months, and we are very excited to add Mathsoft. Mathsoft represents an ideal partner for RenderX, providing the engineering and manufacturing market with standards-based Calculation Management software enhanced by RenderX products to provide the needed print representation for viewing and archiving. Through the partnership, Mathsoft adds significant value to their application while RenderX reaches a new market that would not necessarily be a direct customer."
